Keonjhar Trip

posted Jan 19, 2014, 3:33 AM by Amiya Behera
We had an one day trip to Keonjhar and near by places in last week of 2013. By the way, Keonjhar is around 100KM from my home. On our way to Keonjhar, we had to cross Ghatagaon. We got down at Ghatagaon and worshiped Maa Tarini. Before leaving for Keonjhar, we bought Ghatagaon's famous coconut laddu. On the way, we eat the laddus.
We visited two waterfalls in the outskirts of Keonjhar city, Sana Ghagara (small waterfall) and Bada Ghagara (big waterfall). Among these two, Sana ghagara attracts many people as an picnic spot and visitor's place, due to the availability of basic amenities and being located besides the NH6. It also has a children's park, rose garden, grass lawn and also has boating facilities. In the contrary, Bada ghagara is situated deep in the forest, around 1.5Kms away from the NH6. It has tourist attractions, like a bigger fall, a dam, flower garden and a Shiv Temple etc.
We spent some quality time in lap of the nature and back to Keonjhar for our launch. We also visited the local Jagannath Temple, built by the King of Keonjhar.
